A timing device for the measurement of damping capacity in vibrating samples
Lindsay Molyneux · Journal of Physics E Scientific Instruments · 1968
Modern electronic components, particularly integrated circuits, allow a new approach to the old problem of determining damping capacity. The new circuit enables the time taken for the amplitude of a freely vibrating specimen to half its value to be determined and the result is expressed either in the number of vibrations of the specimen or the elapsed time.
