Re-composition of Information based on Distributed-Sensory-Intelligence Architecture and its Application for ITS

Toru Yamaguchi, K. Hirayama, Hideki Hashimoto · IEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications · 2001

In ITS, driving support systems for a driver is very important. This paper aims at providing human with his blind spot information in advance, namely, augmenting human's sense of sight (“augmented sensing”) in commuter system considered as one realization form of ITS. We propose an “distributed-sensory-intelligence architecture”, which distributes sensory intelligence (with pair of sensor and intelligence) and connects each other by network. In this paper, we experimented on “re-composition of information” based on this archi-tecture and realized the “augmented sensing”.
