Estimation of random modulating signals in transmission systems with nonlinearly coupled noises and additive non‐gaussian noises

Abstract Noise in a transmission system often is assumed to be additive to and independent of the signal of interest. This paper discusses estimation of random modulating signals, where noise is assumed to be either nonlinearly coupled to the signal or additive non‐Gaussian. Such noise appears in an optical link, biological system, or control system.
