Semantic construction for reinterpretation phenomena

Reinterpretation is a `creative' or `dynamic' aspect of natural language, where the literal meaning of an expression is augmented with the help of extralinguistic knowledge, in particular, in cases where there is no wellformed literal interpretation of the expression. Instances of reinterpretation call for a careful design of semantic construction mechanisms that leave enough leeway for the contributions of these additional knowledge sources. I propose
