A boundary recovery algorithm is developed for polyhedral grid generation. In this approach, the original grid points at the boundaries are replaced by a set of new “boundary” points as the inputs to the Voronoi algorithm for generation of polyhedral grids. These new “boundary” points are the intersection points of circles in two-dimension and spheres in three-dimension with the original boundary grid points as the centers of either circles or spheres. As a result, the Voronoi algorithm is able to generate the polyhedral grids with the boundary points as the vertices of polyhedral grids and the boundaries of the computational domain are precisely recovered.
