SEMICONDUCTOR MODULATORS FOR D.C. AMPLIFIERS

A suvey of semiconductor modulators for d-c amplifiers was made. The survey shows that transistor and diode modulators are replacing contactor and capacity modulators due to the development of improved semiconductors. The principles and development history of semiconductor modulators are discussed along with a-c modulators. The characteristics of the respective modulators are tabularly summarized. (auth)
