Sensors for automotive application

Techniques and devices which are currently being used or developed to provide the vital sensing functions required in automotive applications are described. Requirements for sensors for engine and transmission (powertrain) control are listed and the accuracy and temperature range over which they have to operate are noted. Future developments for sensors are also discussed.
