A Quantum Open-systems Theory Approach to Photodetection

A model of photodetection for multimode fields coupled to external sources is considered in the framework of the quantum theory of open systems. An exact derivation of a formula for photon-counting statistics is presented. In addition the problem of counting correlations of two photodetectors is considered.
