An approach for recommending services based on user profile and interest similarity

With the rapid development of SOA, an increasing number of Web services have been published in Internet. Faced with the increasing amount of Web services, it becomes a big challenge to accurately discover and recommend suitable services for users. In this paper, we propose a new comprehensive model that considers users profile and interest information to calculate users' similarity. Based on which a service recommendation approach is proposed. Our approach can alleviate the cold start problem in collaborative filtering to a certain extent. Preliminary experiments show the feasibility of the proposed approach.
