Pattern Selectivity in Optimized Neural Networks

Albrecht Rau, K. Y. Michael Wong, David C. Sherrington · Europhysics Letters (EPL) · 1992

We study the problem of learning and retrieving for correlated patterns. The presence of two competing physical quantities, the pattern correlation and the loading level, leads to very interesting scenarios of basin shrinking. Several different retrieval phases are found. Pattern selectivity may be attributed to different basin structures of the networks.
