INTRODUCTION. The concurrent Pascal implementation kit ofBen-Ari[1] is a simple and compact means of demonstrating concurrent processes using a subset of sequential Pascal. It achieves this by means of a COBEGIN-COEND construct.Synchronization is achieved by SIGNAL and WAIT operations on semaphore variables.Monitors must be simulated. This note describes the modifications necessary to incorporate Monitors directly into the language.
