ON THE ROLE OF INFORMATION AND HIERARCHY IN THE MODELING OF BIOMOLECULAR SYSTEMS
Alberto Apostolico · Journal of Cybernetics · 1978
This work proposes itself as an attempt at a methodological investigation of what the information sciences could be conceivably expected to do within the framework of bimolecular systems modeling and what they could not. As such, it will mainly focus on some of the formal characterizations and measures that have been proposed for the information stored in biomolecules, thereby seeking for the possibilities of finding formally consistent relationships between the current theoretical models of this stage and the ways information is accessed and acted upon at the various levels of molecular information processing.
