Non-Abelian gauge symmetry and the Jaynes-Cummings model

We describe the generalization of the Jaynes-Cummings model to a system with non-Abelian U(2) gauge symmetry and find its exact solutions in the holomorphic representation involving both bosonic and fermionic variables. The model admits a representation of a four-level atom as a system consisting of a given number of N=1,2,3,4 fermions linearly coupled to a bimodal quantized radiation field. The non-Abelian gauge symmetry specifies the linear coupling of the radiation field modes to the fermion fields. This is essential in order to obtain a fully integrable system of interacting bosons and fermions.
