This paper proposes a case study to evaluate how the Cloud Computing (CC) is being adopted on colleges and universities in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN). As a result, the main favorable and unfavorable points to the adoption of the CC in the institutions were identified, which services and deployment models are suitable, what kind of CC services are already being used and the intended ones for the future, migration trends of CC services and knowledge of their IT managers in relation to CC.
