Design of Holograms for Optical Neural Networks

H. John Caulfield · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 1990

In the last year and one half there has been considerable world wide interest in making multiple holograms in a two-dimensional array to provide interconnections for a fully interconnected neural network. The number and spatial pattern of such holograms is governed by the number and spatial pattern of the desired outputs. We address here the general question of how to design these holograms and begin the consideration of how to make them adaptive as well.
