Nonlinear smoothing of signals by applying fuzzy clustering to local points

An unsupervised nonlinear filter called fuzzy cluster filter is introduced.This filter uses only local information and performs a fuzzy cluster analysis inside a runningwindow to output the clean signal.The results on some signals and images demonstrate the efficacy of this approach.The performance of the method is found by calculating the mean-square-error (MSE) for different signal-to-noise ratios using Mont4 Carlo simulations.
