Diffusion through an Interface

Edward J. Scott, L. H. Tung, Harry G. Drickamer · The Journal of Chemical Physics · 1951

The diffusion equation has been solved for the case of two cells of finite length with an interface between the cells. The effect of an interfacial resistance to mass transfer has been considered. It is shown that the situation where there is equilibrium (no resistance) at the interface is a special case of our solution. Several important cases are considered numerically.
