Abstract Persistent currents in mesoscopic rings or cylinders are very sensitive to non‐classical properties of the driving magnetic flux. In the paper we investigate the influence of the quantum and classical noise on the properties of currents. We also study the current characteristics in the presence of maximally entangled states (Bell states) of the non‐classical electromagnetic field. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
