Improvements to Multiple Path Secure Copy

The demand to move large amounts of data between sites are ubiquitous and growing-particularly among the signal/image processing (SIP) community. The Department of Energy (DOE) Sandia Labs has made available a tool called multiple path secure copy (MPSCP), which can move data 4 to 90 times faster than OpenSSHpsilas secure copy (SCP) by using parallel TCP streams. We have enhanced the Baseline Configuration teampsilas version of MPSCP by adding the option to encrypt the data streams, which are unencrypted in the default version. Additionally, we have replaced the existing progress bar with a more accurate bar that includes estimated time to completion. We have also fixed a number of bugs, provided detailed and updated HOWTOs and usage documents for both administrators and users of MPSCP, and enhanced the build process to provide the most up-to-date copies of these documents in distributable archives and to install updated on-line manual pages. Finally, we have set up a Trac server to provide project tracking and are currently investigating additional possibilities for improving MPSCPpsilas performance, utility, and usability.
