Jacques -BURSZTEJN · 2008

During the marvellous 70’s the television signal was analogical. It was the time when the request in term of quality of service was applied to the news gathering using the mean of mobile microwave links. The quality of service was a request on the characteristics of the transmitted signals as well as on a predefined outage of time of the connectivity. Besides this, the request in term of “ease of use” was of paramount importance for the design of TM 308/313 the new generation of TV mobile microwave link of THOMSON-CSF. “Ease of use” was meaning: easy to transport, easy to install, easy to tune …. and reliable. The objectives of these equipments were to comply with the recommendations and reports of the CCIR “Green Book” concerning propagation in the non-ionised media relating to terrestrial transmission by microwave links and the characteristics of the transmitted signal. The specificities of these new generations were to have an heterodyne architecture with a frequency agility capability and requiring no tuning on site. They were all solid state equipment and based on discrete components.
