A lot of efforts have been rendered to recognize human actions such as face recognize, pose estimate and motion analysis. The major problems in action recognition are: 1. Scale variation. 2. Articulated Pose variation. 3. Illumination variation. The various motion patterns and the poses formed by a single human being are termed as actions. Human Actions are identified by the pose of the body such as standing, sitting etc. The main objective of this work is to recognize different human actions using various vision based techniques. We examine different approaches and compare their merits and demerits. In this paper, a detailed review of the latest vision based techniques consists of: 1. Methods. 2. Systems. 3. Quantitative evaluation.
