Estimating thermal conductivities from temperature maps using wavelets
Stéphane Roux, dos Santos Liacir Lucena · Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering · 2006
Using a single measurement of a source-free steady temperature field in two dimensions, a numerical procedure is proposed to estimate the local thermal conductivity map. The identification method is based on decomposition on a wavelet basis. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested against direct simulations of heterogeneous steady thermal problems. This approach is suited to multiscale heterogeneity with possible fine-grain refinement. The ability of the proposed algorithm to deal with noisy data is tested numerically.
