Ada: adding reliability and efficiency to task communication in programming distributed control systems
Krzysztof Sacha · ACM SIGAda Ada Letters · 1989
One of the main application areas of the Ada language is programming of embedded systems. The most important issues in such applications are reliability and efficiency. On the hardware level these issues are addressed by distribute d architectures. On the software level appropriate language constructs are needed to benefit the reliability of the distributed hardware. Two extensions to the Ada language are suggested: one to improve the reliability of the remote procedure call and the other to improve the efficiency of the message broadcasting facility.
