Phase noise in a squeezed state
Matthew J. Collett · Physica Scripta · 1993
An explicit expression is given for the phase noise in a high intensity squeezed state. For fixed intensity this is found to have a minimum value of ln /4 2 . The principal limit on the noise reduction is given by the non-zero probability for the field to have the opposite phase from that intended. A weaker limit is set by the occupation of states close to the origin, in particular of the vacuum state.
