CD-ROM software architecture to promote interchangeability
Bill Zoellick · Journal of the American Society for Information Science · 1988
The CD-ROM publishing industry is handicapped by an inability to guarantee important kinds of interchangeability. Layered software architectures provide a means of solving this problem. This article examines the entire spectrum of CD-ROM software systems, from the applications level to the lowest system level, and shows how layered architectures can be used to provide interchangeability of CD-ROM hardware, media, and applications. © 1988 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
