Q-meter measurements of nickel catalyst beds

The circuit parameters of a resonance coil, as measured with a commerical Q -meter, have been used to determine the amount of reduced metal in a nickel catalyst bed. A coil for in situ use at reaction conditions is described. Calibration curves, temperature variation effects and an illustrative example of a practical use are given.
