Speech and Tone Recognition for a Mandarin e-Learning System

Speech and tone recognition has extraordinary potential for the application of Mandarin e-learning system. Mandarin e-learning system can greatly benefit from speech and tone recognition such as providing the learners' speech and tone pronunciation accuracy so as to correct their pronunciation mistakes especially for the Chinese tone. This paper presents our Mandarin e-learning system and describes the speech and tone recognition technology used in the e-learning system in detail
