Exploration of Foreign Languages Speech Synthesis

The article describes the speech synthesis system developed for use in a multifacet language laboratory for foreign language learning incorporating CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), interactive video and speech generation. The objective is to make these advances in technology readily accessible to non-computer scientists within higher education establishments. Brief outline of speech trials is presented together with preliminary results.
