With the decreasing cost of storage and increased bandwidth of networks it has become technically feasible and cost effective to st.ore huge volumes of fine grain data.This data typically consists of transactions, sales records, customer information, and is stored in warehouses or data marts. When properly analyzed, it provides a rich analysis source for understanding business data. Transactions col lected by operat ional systems are frequently stored in relational tables.
