Nomograms in physics courses?

The author attempts to see if the state of affairs is justified in which nomograms are not included in first year undergraduate curricula. This is done by removing some of the mystique which surrounds nomograms by showing the ease with which they can be constructed and by considering situations where they may be used to advantage.
