An adaptive nulling technique for signal reception

An adaptive technique capable of eliminating directional noise sources is presented for linearly spaced sensor elements. The technique utilizes the signal nulling properties of the eigenvectors corresponding to the minimal eigenvalue of the covariance matrix of the received signal vector. To receive signals in a specified direction, a null elimination method using polynomial divide is described. The proposed technique is applicable for sensors with independent white self-noises of identical variance, and external point signal/noise sources.
