A note about the discretization of finite moment problems
Gabriele Inglese · Inverse Problems · 1994
The process of the reconstruction of a distribution of probability from its moments is very sensitive with respect to the choice of the discretization. Numerical tests suggest that low order splines work well if the nodes are suitably chosen. We try to explain it using the theory of orthogonal polynomials.
