Abstract Three special solutions of the general system of equations in part I are examined with the help of an accurate model function. It is concluded that the parameters of the general solutions are of importance in the case of finite pole‐figure data. An unfavourable effect of the conditional ghost correction method suggested by Matthies and Vinel is shown.
