Artificial intelligence: breeding the languages of tomorrow

Martin Schindler · OSTI OAI (U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information) · 1985

This paper discusses Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs currently in development in the United States and in Japan. Many electronics companies are setting up their own AI departments in the U.S., following the path that the Japanese have taken. A processor is described in the paper which allows a proggrammer to control hardware interactively while continuing to develop the more algorithmic sections of the program. It is useful in situations that are complex enough to require the programmability of coded engines but where current processing speeds are insufficient.
