Abstract To make the existing fault diagnosis algorithms suitable and feasible for practical large analogue networks, a large network must be decomposed into small uncoupled subnetworks. Recently, an efficient decomposition approach fault diagnosis process has been proposed by Bandler et al. This approach keeps both the computations and measurements to acceptable bounds. However, the error effect due to component tolerance in practical circuits may drastically affect the identification of the faulty components. In this paper, a fault prediction approach fault diagnosis process is presented to diagnose precisely the faulty components. the result of this study shows that error effect can be alleviated significantly if the network can be continuously monitored. the proposed fault prediction approach results a significant improvement in both computation and error effect over the original decomposition approach.
