Decryptable searchable encryption with a designated tester

Chengyu Hu, Pengtao Liu · Procedia Engineering · 2011

Public key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) enables user to send a trapdoor Tw to a server that will enable the server to locate all encrypted messages containing the keyword w, but learn nothing else. In a searchable public-key encryption scheme with a designated tester (dPEKS), only the designated server can test which dPEKS ciphertext is related with a given trapdoor by using his private key. PEKS/dPEKS scheme does not allow the user to get w from Tw which limits its applicability. Decryptable searchable encryption which enables decryption can resolve this problem. In this paper, we propose a decryptable searchable encryption scheme with a designated tester. We prove that the scheme is secure against adaptive chosen keyword attack.
