Uniprep—preparing a C/C++ compiler for Unicode

Martin J. Dürst · ACM SIGPLAN Notices · 1994

A new way to ease the transition of programs and programmers to multilingual 16-bit character sets is presented. A filter, called uniprep, is inserted between the C/C++ macro preprocessor and the compiler itself. It substitutes wide-character constants and strings by appropriately converted and casted traditional constants.
