An analytical solution for diffusion in a shrinking body

Abstract An analytical solution for the equation that describes the mass balance for a solvent diffusing out of a shrinking body gives the variation of the half‐thickness of an infinite slab and its diffusant content as functions of time. This solution is compared with numerical results obtained previously for a slab of finite thickness.
