Wavelet analysis of X-ray images with low signal/noise ratio

The wavelet analysis application has been examined for selection of contours in weak contrast images, obtained at radioscopy of large-scale power articles in operation. The comparison of accuracy of contours selection of simulated images has been conducted at their processing with Haar wavelet, symmetric Daubechies wavelet and Sobel classic operator. It has been shown that due to the multi-scale wavelet transform, increase in accuracy is achieved at signal/noise ratio of less than 10.
