3.3.1 Driving system development process from strategic goals to requirements specification
Hassan El Ghazi · INCOSE International Symposium · 2007
Abstract In this paper we suggest a goal‐oriented requirements engineering method to guide the discovery of strategic goals of a company, and their operationalization by goals associated with its system under development. The method also allows the discovery of system requirements and it was applied within an industrial project that aims to fabricate a medical diagnostic instrument. For this purpose, we used theMAPformalism to describe the process and various deliverables associated with the development process. We also used the concepts ofi* to model the dependencies between the strategic actors of the organisational environment, and to formalize the goals related to the system. Our method makes it possible to model the strategic goals of the company and their decomposition into tactical goals and thus ensuring requirements traceability.
