SEG: 75 years and going strong
Geophysics · 2005
Abstract The year 2005 marks the 75th anniversary of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Among the many commemorations is a series of special papers in GEOPHYSICS throughout 2005, providing an overview of the journal and how it has advanced the field of exploration geophysics. A motivation for this series is to allow young geophysicists and veterans to temporarily step aside from computer terminals and innumerable meetings to revel in the panoramic view of our shared history of geophysical technology and science that has had such a tremendous impact on the development of modern civilization.
