Analysis of glottal spectral measures for voiced speech synthesis
M. Meehan · 2005
The present work investigates certain effects on the speech spectrum due to glottal source parameter variations. More specifically, the parameters chosen to be varied result in a variation of a open quotient (OQ-open time over glottal period) and a speed quotient (SQ-opening time over closing time). It is the goal of this paper to summarise these data and hence clarify the relationship between these aspects of glottal flow and the resulting speech spectra. Building on the collated data a possible method for changing open quotient spectrally with minimal effect on speed quotient is proposed. The paper concludes with a brief examination of how this work will fit into a new harmonic plus noise model (HNM).
