Integrated Circuit for Switching Converters Using Conductance Control

In the frame of the TRP Programme ESTEC has developped a specific ASIC including all necessary functions to perform the control of a switching converter in so-called conductance control, as opposed to peak -current control for which a number of commercial products are already on the market The paper first recalls the characteristics of current control for a converter and particularly of conductance control. It then describes all the functionalities of the circuits and the results when applied with a converter. It finally gives a development status of the product.
