An intelligent voltage/current scanner
T.D.S. Hamilton, S K Howell, Brian Turton · Measurement Science and Technology · 1990
An intelligent scanner is described which is able to measure large numbers of voltages or currents. The system communicates with a remote host computer over a standard RS232 serial interface, from which it receives commands that determine the conditions under which data are acquired. Local intelligence at the site of the scanner is able to process accumulated data before transmitting it to the host, together with any relevant status information.
