On the Non-Existence of Consistent Estimators for P(CS)

SYNOPTIC ABSTRACTThe problem of estimating the probability of selecting a normal population with largest mean (when variances and sample sizes are equal) is considered. Maximum likelihood methods are discussed and the non-existence of consistent estimators is demonstrated.
