Lifting and lowering the data from digital library "Virtual Encyclopedia of Bulgarian Iconography"

In this paper we present an algorithm for lifting and lowering the data from the database of the digital library "Virtual Encyclopedia of Bulgarian Iconography". The data is transformed between its native relational or web service form and the OWL instances defined by the corresponding base ontology developed in the scope of the SINUS project [9]. We implement data transformations with the help of the table that maps the corresponding fields and structures of the original syntactic data and the corresponding OWL classes and properties.
