"Big data" has emerged as a compelling topic for e-government practitioners who have the opportunity to develop strategies for exploiting the data streams they currently possess or can access in an effort to make government organizations smarter and more responsive to their constituencies. This panel brings together researchers who are exploring big data analytic capabilities and opportunities in government organizations as well as the technical, organizational and ethical constraints that government practitioners are likely to face.
