G-Parity and Unitary Symmetry

In the SU(3)-symmetric theory of strong interaction, G-parity is generalized referring to the other subgroups U(2) of the U(3), called U and V-spins, different from the isotopic spin subgroup. The introduced GU and GV-parities are applied to lead to the selection rules for the pΣ+ and the nΣ- annihilation processes.
