An exception-based mechanism for syntactic error recovery
Thomas N. Turba · ACM SIGPLAN Notices · 1984
This paper describes a method of syntactic error recovery that is similar, in many respects, to exception handling in Ada® and CLU. The mechanism is based on the static specification of error contexts that inform the parser about possible recovery points that it can use when an error occurs. Selection of a recovery point is based on the present state of the parse (i.e., what contexts are eligible for selection) and the symbols in the input stream.
