Modeling from a semiotic perspective

Ahmet Sıkıcı · 2005

This work is about bringing a semiotic view to the modeling tasks that are present in the state of the art object-oriented software development. Object-oriented modeling is found to be messy in its approach to abstractions and this is attributed to its inherent symmetric modeling philosophy. In this work the basics of modeling is analyzed from a semiotic point of view and the reader is guided towards the principles of using symmetry and symbolism together in harmony.
